Originally called awardwinningcoffee.com, the business got its first foray into the world in 2023 as a test-and-learn concept to see if people wanted a new type of coffee subscription. Turns out they did! But the product, the brand and the experience all needed to be sharpened. Honestly, things nearly stopped there...

Then, late in 2023, Sam and Paul found one another through a shared love of coffee, music, and facial hair. Paul was coming out of a corporate role as a digital marketer, and figuring out what professional adventure he wanted next. Sam was already a coffee giant. A multi-award-winning coffee roaster, a founding partner in California’s Theory Coffee, a certified Q-grader, and an unwavering advocate for specialty coffee. 

Both of them, separately, had been dreaming about a new kind of coffee club. One they would actually sign-up to! Coincidentally, their thoughts on how to create it were strikingly similar. 

As soon as they realized this, they started to build plans on how to bring this shared vision to life. Podium Coffee Club was designed with the following goals: Create the best coffee subscription on the market by sourcing every coffee directly from award-winning roasters, supremely fresh beans, and of course with coffees this amazing, no long-term contract.

The DNA of Podium Coffee Club was set, with the business launching soon after.
