Yes. We do not lock our customers into long-term fixed subscriptions. You have total control. Either follow the instructions from your bill or contact us and we will take care of any changes to your plan.

For Podium Platinum and Podium Gold, you will be charged for your first coffee on the day you sign-up. Your first coffee will arrive 10-14 days later.

Then, in subsequent months, billing takes place on the 1st of the month for both Podium Platinum and Podium Gold, with coffees being shipped between 10th and 15th of each month.

Individual tastes do vary significantly, but the 'golden ratio' of coffee brewing is approx. 1:18 for coffee vs water. 300g of coffee beans is enough for approx. 19 x 10oz cups of coffee.

Podium Flash is a free SMS alert service for amazing, limited-supply coffees.

Once a month, we find a coffee from a champion roaster that is exceptional and also highly limited. When you sign up for Podium Flash alerts you will be notified by SMS when these show-stopping coffees become available. Simply follow your link if you would like to purchase. You are under no obligation buy anything at all.

Active subscribers to Podium Platinum or Podium Gold are notified 24 hours ahead of these coffees being offered to all Podium Flash subscribers.

Podium Platinum and Podium Gold are both 300g (10.5oz) of coffee per month. This is enough for approx 19 x 10oz cups of coffee.

There are so many great ways to make coffee. We happen to be pourover fans, but Aeropress, espresso, french press, moka pot, and more beyond can all be great ways to create great coffee. You can read more about some of our brewing tips here.

In 2024 and 2025, we are working with coffee roasters who have been awarded at one of the 3 major US coffee awards. US Coffee Championships, Good Food Awards, Golden Bean Awards. 

Quite simply, yes. The roasters we work with have been acknowledged as being the best of the best by one or more of the major US coffee awards. 

Specialty coffees and especially those from the most highly credentialed roasters and producers, will reveal taste profiles significantly beyond those from mainstream coffees. Individual coffees vary but often show flavors of fruit, spice, sweet, or nutty.

Coffee beans will stay fresh for 2-3 weeks (depending on how they’re stored). This is one reason why Podium coffees are roasted and then shipped within 24 hours, to ensure maximum freshness. Because our coffees are mailed directly to you we have a strong preference for beans. Grinding coffee beans right before you brew them retains a lot of flavor in your cup. 

We know that ground coffee can be more convenient, and we may offer some ground options in the future if we can be confident we're not compromising taste.

For now (and for all the right reasons) we send beans only.

We feature mostly single origin coffees, and some select blends. Some of the most revered roasters in the world are making incredible blends to create flavor profiles that would be more elusive with a single origin coffee (just like champagne is a blend of grapes). Our promise is always to choose the most exceptional coffees. 

We carefully select our coffees from roasters who have won an award at one of the major US coffee awards. So, you can be certain the coffee is superb.

These coffees are typically from much smaller and lower-yield farmers than those you’ll find in mainstream coffee shops, and each batch is roasted to perfection by a champion roaster.

We’ve worked to eliminate every reason not to buy coffee online. From featuring the top 1% of roasters, to eliminating fixed-term contracts, and sending ultra-fresh beans. Supermarket coffee is generally poor quality (even when it’s in a fancy bag) and has often been on the shelf for weeks, and sometimes months. It’s time to upgrade your bean routine. 

Coffee begins to lose its freshness 2-3 weeks after roasting. Most supermarket coffee has a long supply chain—from roasting, to packaging, to shipping, to sitting on the shelf—meaning it can be weeks or even months old before it reaches your cup.

The volume of exceptional coffee that supermarkets sell is even less than mainstream coffee. So, if your supermarket stocks coffee of this standard the chances of it being stale can be even higher.

Podium Coffee Club ships coffees within 24 hours of roasting, directly from champion roasters, and we only offer whole beans to ensure maximum freshness in your cup. 

This is an excellent question, and an important one! Roasting coffee is a highly-skilled business. With great coffees, a talented roaster will highlight the intrinsic character of the coffee beans, and not seek to override the coffee with over-roasting dimensions like smokiness. Over-roasting is often done to hide poor coffee.

Exceptional coffees, like those from Podium Coffee Club, will usually be light or light-to-medium roasted (because they have more to offer and less to hide!). Flavor complexity, sweetness, acidity, and body are all balanced to create coffees that surpass mainstream offerings.

We send the best coffee beans, roasted to perfection by the top 1% of US roasting talent, to allow the intricacies of their specific flavors to shine.
